SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: ChatGPT free for students (through May)

When I logged into ChatGPT this morning, I saw an announcement that ChatGPT Plus is free for students through May. This gives students access to increased file uploads, advanced voice, expanded messaging limits and Deep Research! Access to Deep Research is huge, even though it’s only 10 queries per month.

Increased access to Deep Research is, like most things AI, a two-sided coin. It’s awesome for students who use it wisely, but a potential nightmare for faculty, who may have to deal with increased inappropriate use. This development raises important questions about academic integrity and AI use that I’ll explore in detail in an upcoming article.
